CURFEW," TO ESTABLISH A CURFEW FOR MINORS <br /> UNDER THE AGE OF SEVENTEEN YEARS AND PROHIBIT PARENT, <br /> GUARDIAN, OR PERSON IN CHARGE OF MINOR FROM PERMITTING <br /> SUCH MINOR TO ACT CONTRARY TO THE TERMS OF THIS ORDINANCE, <br /> AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br /> MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Chapter 23 of the Municipal Code of the City of Univer- <br /> sity City, relatiAg to Offenses--Miscellaneous, is hereby amended by enacting <br /> a new section to be known as "Section 23-44. Curfew," to establish a curfew <br /> for minors under the age of seventeen years and prohibit a parent, guardian or <br /> person in charge of a minor from permitting such minor to act contrary to the <br /> terms of this Ordinance. Said section shall read as follows: <br /> R <br /> Sec. 23-44. Curfew. <br /> It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age of seven- <br /> teen years to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, or play in or <br /> upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, <br /> playgrounds, or other public grounds, public places and <br /> public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, <br /> vacant lots or other unsupervised places, between the <br /> hours of 11-P .M.�-and, 6;A.M. .of;the>5,followingday,-;official;« � .r.. <br /> City time, except on Fridays and Saturdays, when the hours <br /> shall be 12 midnight to 6 A.M.; provided, however, that <br /> the provisions of this section shall not apply to a minor <br /> accompanied by his or her parent, guardian, or other adult <br /> person having the care and custody of the minor, or where <br /> the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate <br /> business directed by his or her parent, guardian, or other <br /> adult person having the care and custody of the minor. <br /> F <br /> Sec. 23-44.1.
