<br /> KNOWN AS "ARTICLE II 11ECHANICAL CODE" SO AS TO ADOPT THE
<br /> BOCA BASIC 14ATIO14AL IEClIAI4ICAL CODE, FIFTH EDITION, 1984;
<br /> CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.
<br /> WHEREAS, subsequent to the approval on September 21, 1981, of
<br /> Ordinance "o. 5302, adopting the "uOCA Basic Mechanical Code, Fourth Edition,
<br /> 1981" as published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators Inter-
<br /> national, Inc. , a new edition . nown as the BOCA Basic National Mechanical
<br /> Code, Fifty 'Edition, 1934, has been published by said Building Officials and
<br /> Code Administrators International, Inc. ; and
<br /> WHEREAS, it is desired to adopt, by reference, "The LOCH Basic
<br /> National Mechanical Code, Fifth Edition, 1984" as published by the Buildin
<br /> Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. , with certain modifi-
<br /> cations hereinafter set forth.
<br /> NOW, THEREFO:E, BE IT ORDAINED I>Y THE COUNCIL OF UNIVEISITY CITY,
<br /> IiISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
<br /> Section 1. Chapter 6 of the i.unicipal Code of the City of t
<br /> University City relating to Buildings is hereby amended by repealin- Article
<br /> II thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 5302, enacted leptember 21, 1981,
<br /> relating, to the Mechanical Code and enacting in lieu thereof a new Article to
<br /> ue known as "Article II Mechanical Code" so as to adopt the BOCA Basic
<br /> lational Mechanical Code, Fifth Edition, 1984, relating to the same subject,
<br /> and enacting said Article so that said Article, as so enacted, shall read as
<br /> follows:
<br /> Article II Mechanical Code
<br /> Section 6-20 Adoption: The BOCA Basic National Mechanical Code,
<br /> Fifth Edition, 1984, as published by the Building Officials and Code Adminis-
<br /> trators International, Inc. , three copies of which are on file in the office
<br /> of the City Clerk and a copy of which is attached hereto, be and is adopted as
<br /> the 14echanical Code of the City of University City, Missouri; hereby for the
<br /> control of building and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the
<br /> regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions, and terms of the BOCA Basic
<br /> National Mechanical Code, Fifth Edition, 1984, are hereby referred to, adopted
<br /> and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this ordinance, with the
<br /> additions, insertions, deletions and changes, prescribed in Section 6-20,1.
<br /> Section 6-20.1 Additions, Insertions, Deletions and Changes: The
<br /> following numbered subsections of the BOCA Basic National Mechanical Code,
<br /> Fifth Edition, 1984, are hereby amended by additions, insertions, deletions
<br /> and changes, including the changing of subsection titles and the addition of
<br /> new subsections so that such amended and added subsections reads as follows:
<br /> ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT
<br /> SECTION 100.0 SCOPE
<br /> M-100.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the
<br /> Mechanical Code of the City of University City, Missouri,
<br /> hereinafter referred to as "this code." The terms: "name
<br /> of jurisdiction" or "local jurisdiction" : wherever
<br /> employed herein shall be construed to mean the City of
<br /> University City, Missouri.
