M-109.1 General: The term "Department of Mechanical <br /> Inspection" whenever employed herein shall be construed to <br /> mean the Department of Planning and Development of the <br /> City of University City and the term "Mechanical Officer" <br /> shall be construed to mean the Building Commissioner of <br /> the City of University City. <br /> M-109.2 Appointment: Is hereby deleted in its entirety. <br /> M-114.2 Periodic Inspections: Inspection fees shall be <br /> as established by local ordinance. <br /> M-114.3 Fee Schedule: The fee for each application, plan <br /> examination, permit, appeal and inspection shall be as <br /> prescribed in local ordinances. When any work for which a <br /> permit is required by this code is started prior to <br /> obtaining a permit therefor, the total applicable fees <br /> shall be doubled, but the payment of such doubled fee <br /> shall not relieve any person from complying with the <br /> requirements of this code nor from the penalties pre- <br /> scribed for the violation of this code. <br /> M-117.4 Penalties: Any person violating any provisions <br /> of this code shall upon conviction thereof, be subject to <br /> the penalties provided in Section 1-8 of the Municipal <br /> Code of the City of University City. <br /> M-118.2 Unlawful Continuance: It shall be unlawful for <br /> any person to continue any mechanical work in or about a <br /> structure after having been served a stop work order; <br /> except such work as that person is directed to perform to <br /> remove a violation or unsafe condition. <br /> M-122.2 Appeals Board: The Board of Appeals appointed <br /> under the Building Code shall have jurisdiction to hear <br /> all appeals under this code. <br /> M-122.2 ,1 Qualification of Board Members: Is hereby deleted <br /> in its entirety. <br /> MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT <br /> SECTION M-406.0 BOILER ROOMS AND FURNACE ROOMS <br /> M-406.3 Boiler Enclosures: Every boiler or combination <br /> boiler shall be installed in a protected area with an <br /> enclosure designed to prevent unauthorized entry, and <br /> which allows a minimum clearance of 24 inches (610 mm) on <br /> all service sides: A locked door or gate shall be <br /> provided for such enclosure openable on the inside without <br /> a key. Storage or living quarters shall not be permitted <br /> in any boiler or similar heating equipment enclosure. <br /> Exception: Heating boilers which are located in <br /> buildings of Use Group R-3 & R-2 containing six <br /> dwelling units or less. <br /> ENERGY CONSERVATION <br /> SECTION M-1900.0 GENERAL <br /> M-1900.2 Simplified Methods: Computations may be based f <br /> on a table of simplified values available in the office of <br /> the building official. <br /> 2 <br />
