O <br /> <br />(5) <br /> <br />(6) <br /> <br />(7) <br /> <br />(8) <br /> <br />(9) <br /> <br />Permitted in LU of O-BR or I-BR only. .A kitchenette shall be not loss <br />than 40 sq. <br /> <br />An Other Habitable Room (OHR) shall meet all requirements for habitable <br />rooms, have a closet of approxlmately 6 sq. fi,, and shall have a means of <br />complete separation from other r, ooms. <br /> <br />The combining of a Kitchen or Kitchenette with a Bedroom in a single room <br />shall not be permitted. The designation of K in combination with other spaces <br />may be considered either as a Kitchen or Kitchenette.. <br /> <br />Permitted only in Living Unit having no separate Bedroom. <br /> <br />Least dimension of appropriate room function applies. <br /> <br />1. Each li.'ving unit within a mnlti-family (apartment house) structure shall <br /> contain not less than: <br /> <br />a. One combination room providing a space for living, sleeping and eating, <br /> <br />b. A kitchenette providing space for cooking and storage for cooking sup- <br /> plless food stuffs, equipment, etc. <br /> <br />c. A full bathroom for each family or living unit. <br /> <br />Z. A habitable room shall have a ceiling height of at least 7 feet 6 inches. <br /> <br />Access to a single bathroom shall be provided from inside the living unit. <br />In such cases access may not be directly from a kitchen, or through a <br />bedroom when there is more than one bedroom in a dwelling unit. <br /> <br />4. Access to every habitable room in a dwelling unit shall be provided without <br /> passing through a bathroom or water closet compartment. <br /> <br />Each living unit within a structure shall be provided with safe, private and <br />unobstructed means of ingress and egress. Structures over two stories in <br />height containing one or more dwelling units shall be provided with two <br />separate usable exits from eachfloor, accessible to each dwelling unit or <br />part thereof on said floor. All required exit facilities shall lead to a public <br />thoroughfare either directly or through a court or yard, and passage to such <br />exits shall not lead through any other dwelling unit or through a space that <br />might reasonably be locked by anyone who is not a member of the household. <br />Eual means of exit shall consist of two inside stairs discharging directly or <br />through common halls to the outside, or on one inside stair and one metal <br />stair type fire escape accessible to all dwelling units on each floor and dis- <br />charging to the outside. <br /> <br />Stairways shall comply with the Building Code for size of rise and run of <br />steps, headroom, obstructions, stair width, landings and rail protection. <br />Each stairway shall have sufficient railing in safe and sound condition. <br />Wintier-type steps shall not be us ed in stairways of dwellings where more <br />than one family use the stairway, unless a separate means of ingress and <br />egress for each living unit is provided which is not a secondary exit. <br /> <br />No room in any basement in an existing structure shall be used as a habit- <br />able room nor shall any resin in any basement be deemed to be any part <br />of a dwelling unit under these regulations, <br /> <br />8. Clothes closet space shall be provided within each living unit on the basis of <br /> <br />PRs -5 <br /> <br />134 <br /> <br /> <br />
