MODIFIED DELMAR LOOP URBAN RENENAL PLAN <br /> <br />O <br /> <br />I. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT <br /> <br />A. Boundaries of the Urban Renewal Area. <br /> <br />The boundaries of the Delmar Loop Urban Renewal Area (Mo. R-55) are <br />delineated on the "PROJECT AREA MAP (Acquisition Areas)", Exhibit A <br />hereof. <br /> <br />The Urban Renewal Area contains approximately 72.7 acres and is a <br />part of the Parkview Gardens GeneralNeighborhood Renewal Area (Mo. <br />R-33 GN). <br /> <br />The boundaries of the Delmar Loop Project Area (Mo. R-55) are as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Beginning at the East Line of Melville Avenue at the point of <br />prolongation of the South Line of Washington Avenue; thence <br />westwardly along the said South Line of Washington Avenue to the <br />West Line of Kingsland Avenue; thence northwardly along the said <br />West Line of Kingsland Avenue to the North Line of Delmar <br />Boulevard; thence eastwardly to the West Line of Kingsland <br />Avenue; thence northwardly alone the West Line of Kingsland <br />Avenue to the North Line of Olive Boulevard; thence eastwardly <br />alone the said North Line of 0live Boulevard to the West Line of <br />Sutter Avenue; thence southwestwardly to the West Line of <br />Westgate Avenue; thence southwardly alone the said West Line of <br />Westgate Avenue to the North Line of Vernon Avenue; thence <br />northwestwardly alone said North Line of Vernon Avenue to a <br />point at the prolongation of the West Line of Leland Avenue; <br />thence southwardly along said West Line of Leland Avenue to the <br />North Line of the alley north of EnriEht Avenue; thence <br />eastwardly alone said North Line of alley to the East Line of <br />the abandoned public service Right-of-Way; thence southwardly <br />alone said East Line of Right-of-Way to a point at the <br />prolongation of the East Line of the Right-of-Way on the South <br />Line of Delmar Boulevard; thence westwardly on said South Line <br />of Delmar Boulevard to the East Line of Melville Avenue; thence <br />southwardly alone said East Line of Melville Avenue to the point <br />of beginning. <br /> <br />B. Urban Renewal Plan Objectives. <br /> <br />Urban Renewal was undertaken in this community in order to <br />stabilize and protect the qualities which have made University City <br />a well-planned and progressive City as well as to stimulate <br />activities which will result in further sound, well-balanced <br />development. The specific objectives of the Urban Renewal Program <br />for the Delmar Loop Project area are to revitalize the area so as <br />to reinstate it as an active civic, and attractive business and <br />residential center; to increase the amount of space available for <br />commercial developments and warehousing establishments, to provide <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br />114 <br /> <br /> <br />
