17-501.3 Hotels: Where private water closets, lavatories, and baths are not <br />provided, one water closet, one lavatory and one bathtub or shower accessible <br />from a public hallway shall be provided on each floor for each ten occupants. <br />Each lavatory, bathtub or shower shall be supplied with hot and cold water at <br />all times. <br /> <br />17-501.4 Other structures: In non-residential structures the requirements <br />for sanitary facilities shall comply with the minimum requirements of the <br />plumbing code for such facilities for such use and occupancy. <br /> <br />SECTION 17-502.0 TOILET ROOMS <br /> <br />17-502.1 Privacy: Toilet rooms and bathrooms shall be designed and arranged <br />to provide privacy. <br /> <br />17-502.2 Direct access: Toilet rooms and bathrooms shall not be used as the <br />only passageway to a hall or other space, or to the exterior. A toilet room <br />or bathroom in a dwelling unit shall be accessible from any sleeping room <br />without passing through another sleeping room. <br /> <br />17-502.3 Same story: Toilet rooms and bathrooms serving hotel units, lodging <br />units, or dormitory units, unless located within such respective units, or <br />directly connected thereto, shall be provided on the same floor with such <br />units, and be accessible only from a common hall or passageway. <br /> <br />17-502.4 Employee facilities: Toilet rooms for employees shall be readily <br />accessible to such employees, and shall not open directly into any public <br />kitchen or other public space used for the cooking or preparation of food. <br /> <br />17-502.5 Partitions: Every non-residential structure that requires or <br />supplies a water closet, shall provide within the toilet room, partitions, <br />enclosures or compartments for privacy and shall comply with fixture clearance <br />requirements of the plumbing code for such installations. <br /> <br />SECTION 17-503.0 PLUMBING FIXTURES <br /> <br />17-503.1 General: <br />useable condition. <br />material. <br /> <br />All plumbing fixtures shall be maintained in a safe and <br />All plumbing fixtures shall be of approved non-absorbent <br /> <br />17-503.2 Connections: Water supply lines, plumbing fixtures, vents and <br />drains shall be properly installed, connected and maintained in working order <br />and shall be kept free from obstructions, leaks and defects and capable of <br />performing the function for which they are designed.
