(Artiole 28 Plumbing Systems) <br /> (SECTION 2800.0 GENERAL) <br />2800.1 Scope: The design and installation of plumbing systems, <br />including sanitary and storm drainage, sanitary facilities, water <br />supplies and storm water and sewage disposal in buildings, shall <br />comply with the requirements of this article and the plumbing code <br />adopted under Section 6-30 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />University City, Missouri. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 2803.0 PERMITS AND CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL) <br />2803.6 Homeowner permits: Subject to all provisions of Sections <br />2803.6.1 through 2803.6.6, a permit may be issued to the owner or <br />to a member of the owner's immediate family for the repair or <br />modification (including the installation of additional fixtures of <br />an existing plumbing or drainage system on the premises of a <br />detached one-family dwelling including accessory structures. <br /> <br />2803.6,1 <br />purposes. <br />2803,6,2 <br /> <br />The dwelling shall be designed and used solely for living <br />The dwelling shall be occupied by the permittee. <br /> <br />2803.6.3 The permittee shall personally perform all required work. <br /> <br />2803.6.4 Prior to the issuance of a permit under this Section, the <br />code official shall determine that the request for a permit <br />complies with the foregoing provisions and that the applicant has <br />the necessary knowledge and ability to perform the proposed work. <br /> <br />2803.6.5 The permit may be revoked by the Code Official if it is <br />determined that work under the permit is not being properly <br />performed or that the applicant did not comply, or no longer <br />complies, with this Section. Upon such revocation the property <br />owner may be required by the Code Official to proceed immediately <br />to procure a licensed plumber to correct or complete the work. <br /> <br />2803.6.6 This Section does not authorize a waiver or modification <br />of any provision of this code or the plumbing code relating to the <br />materials, design, installation or practice of plumbing, drainage <br />or sewers, or to the preparation and approval of plans, or to <br />required fees for permits, inspections or reinspections. <br /> <br />2803.7 Licenses: No person shall perform any plumbing or <br />drainlaying work unless currently licensed to perform such work as <br />provided by local ordinance. <br /> <br />Exceptions: <br /> <br />1. Work, repairs or installations that are specifically exempt <br /> from permit requirements. <br /> <br />2. Work performed under a homeowner~s permit. <br /> <br />3.
