Section 6-1.1 Additions. Insertions. Deletions and Chanaes: The following numbered subsections of the BOCA Basic National Building Code, Eleventh Edition, 1990, are amended by additions, insertions, deletions and changes, including the changing of subsection titles and the addition of new subsections, so that such amended and added subsections read as follows: (Article I Administration and Enforcement) (SECTION 100.0 SCOPE) 100.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the Building Code of the City of University City, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as "this code". The terms: "name of jurisdiction" or "local jurisdiction" wherever employed herein shall mean the City of University City, Missouri. (SECTION 101.0 APPLICABILITY) 101.3 Determination of essential requirements: Any requirement relative to the manner of construction or material to be used in the erection , addition, alteration, repair, removal, demolition, installation of service equipment and the location, use, occupancy or maintenance of all structures, which is essential to insure public safety, health or welfare, and which is not specifically covered by the provisions of this code, shall be as determined by the code official, on the basis of the legislative intent of this code as set forth in Section 100.0 and the provisions of this code for similar or related matters. (SECTION 103.0 EXISTING STRUCTURES) 103.4 Rehabilitation: The repair, alteration, addition or change of use to buildings that existed prior to July 15 1963, shall be made to conform to the code by applying either the requirements of Article 32 or the provisions of Articles 2 through 31. (SECTION 104.0 REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE) 104.1 Repairs: Application or notice to the code official is not required for ordinary repairs which do not involve any violation of this code and do not require permits under the provisions of Section 111.0. (SECTION 108.0 PROFESSIONALARCHITECTURAL & ENGINEERING SERVICES) 108.1 Professionally prepared plans: All plans, computations and specifications shall be prepared by or under the direct supervision of a registered architect or engineer, duly licensed in the State of Missouri to render this service and shall bear that architect's or engineer's seal. The code official shall be permitted to waive this requirement for additions to single family dwellings and for structures classified as Use Group U, Utility and Miscellaneous Uses. The cover sheet of each set of plans, computations and specifications submitted to the code official shall bear an original embossed or inked seal and an original signature of the registered architect or engineer. 2
