Section 6-1.1 Additions. Insertions. Deletions and Chanaes: The <br />following numbered subsections of the BOCA Basic National Building <br />Code, Eleventh Edition, 1990, are amended by additions, insertions, <br />deletions and changes, including the changing of subsection titles <br />and the addition of new subsections, so that such amended and added <br />subsections read as follows: <br /> <br /> (Article I Administration and Enforcement) <br /> (SECTION 100.0 SCOPE) <br />100.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the Building <br />Code of the City of University City, Missouri, hereinafter referred <br />to as "this code". The terms: "name of jurisdiction" or "local <br />jurisdiction" wherever employed herein shall mean the City of <br />University City, Missouri. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 101.0 APPLICABILITY) <br />101.3 Determination of essential requirements: Any requirement <br />relative to the manner of construction or material to be used in <br />the erection , addition, alteration, repair, removal, demolition, <br />installation of service equipment and the location, use, occupancy <br />or maintenance of all structures, which is essential to insure <br />public safety, health or welfare, and which is not specifically <br />covered by the provisions of this code, shall be as determined by <br />the code official, on the basis of the legislative intent of this <br />code as set forth in Section 100.0 and the provisions of this code <br />for similar or related matters. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 103.0 EXISTING STRUCTURES) <br />103.4 Rehabilitation: The repair, alteration, addition or change <br />of use to buildings that existed prior to July 15 1963, shall be <br />made to conform to the code by applying either the requirements of <br />Article 32 or the provisions of Articles 2 through 31. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 104.0 REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE) <br />104.1 Repairs: Application or notice to the code official is not <br />required for ordinary repairs which do not involve any violation of <br />this code and do not require permits under the provisions of <br />Section 111.0. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 108.0 PROFESSIONALARCHITECTURAL & ENGINEERING SERVICES) <br />108.1 Professionally prepared plans: All plans, computations and <br />specifications shall be prepared by or under the direct supervision <br />of a registered architect or engineer, duly licensed in the State <br />of Missouri to render this service and shall bear that architect's <br />or engineer's seal. The code official shall be permitted to waive <br />this requirement for additions to single family dwellings and for <br />structures classified as Use Group U, Utility and Miscellaneous <br />Uses. The cover sheet of each set of plans, computations and <br />specifications submitted to the code official shall bear an <br />original embossed or inked seal and an original signature of the <br />registered architect or engineer. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
