Introduced by Councilmember Thompson <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8004 (As Amended) <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 5794 <br /> <br />AN ORDiNANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY <br />OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS AMENDED~ RELATING TO MINIMUM <br />STANDARDS GOVERNING THE CONDITIONS ANDHAINTENANCE OF ALL EXISTING <br />STRUCTURES, PREMISES AND EXTERIOR PROPERTY, AND ENACTING IN LIEU <br />THEREOF A NEW CHAPTERWHICH IS TO BE KNOWNAS "CHAPTER 17, PROPERTY <br />MAINTENANCE CODE" SO AS TO ADOPT THE BOCA NATIONAL PROPERTY <br />MAINTENANCE CODE, THIRD EDITION, 1990; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE <br />AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the approval on October 19, 1987 of <br />Ordinance No. 5622, adopting the University City Existing <br />Structures Code which was based on the text of the BOCA National <br />Existing Structures Code, Second Edition, 1987, published by the <br />Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., a <br />new edition known as BOCA National Property Maintenance Code, Third <br />Edition, 1990 has been published by said Building Officials and <br />Code Administrators International, Inc., and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desired to adopt, by reference, "The BOCA National <br />Property Maintenance Code, Third Edition, 1990" as published by the <br />Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc. with <br />certain modifications as hereinafter set forth, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code of University City <br />relating to the Existing Structures Code and Ordinances Numbered <br />5622 and 5705 are hereby repealed and a new chapter to be known as <br />"Chapter 17, Property Maintenance Code" is hereby enacted in lieu <br />thereof, so as to adopt the BOCA National Property Maintenance <br />Code, Third Edition, 1990, relating to the same subject and <br />reenacting said Chapter so that said Chapter as so enacted shall <br />read as follows: <br /> <br /> Chapter 17 <br />Property Maintenance Code <br /> <br />Section 17-1 Adoption.
