paper, rags, cartons, boxes, wood, excelsior, rubber, leather, <br />tree branches, yard trimmings, tin cans, metals, mineral <br />matter, glass, crockery and dust and other similar materials. <br /> <br />structure: That which is built or constructed, including without <br /> limitation because of enumeration, buildings for any occupancy <br /> or use whatsoever, fences, signs, billboards, fire escapes, <br /> chute escapes, railings, water tanks, towers, steps, sidewalks <br /> or stairways, tents or anything erected and framed of <br /> component parts which is fastened, anchored or rests on a <br /> permanent foundation or on the ground. <br /> <br />Toilet room: A room containing a water closet or urinal but <br /> not a bathtub or shower. (Also see Bathroom.) <br /> <br />Ventilation: The natural or mechanical process of supplying <br /> conditioned or unconditioned air to, or removing such air <br /> from, any ~pace. <br /> <br />Workmanlike: Executed in a skilled manner; e.g., generally plumb, <br /> level, square, in line, undamaged, and without marring <br /> adjacent work. <br /> <br />Yard: An open space on the same lot with a building. <br /> <br /> (Article 3 General Requirements) <br />(SECTION PM-301.0 EXTERIOR PROPERTY AREAS) <br /> <br />PM-301.2 Grading and drainage <br />All premises shall be graded and maintained to prevent the erosion <br />of soil and to prevent the accumulation of stagnant water thereon, <br />or within any structure located thereon. <br /> <br />Exception: Water retention areas or reservoirs approved by the <br /> code official. <br /> <br />PM-301.3 Sidewalks and driveways <br />All sidewalks, walkways, stairs, driveways, parking spaces and <br />similar areas shall be kept in a proper state of repair, and <br />maintained free of hazardous conditions. Stairs shall comply with <br />the requirements of Section PM-302.10. <br /> <br />PM-301.4 Landscaping <br />Yards in residential zoning districts shall be provided with lawn <br />or ground cover of vegetation or shrubs, covering an area of not <br />less than ten percent of the total lot area. All lot areas which <br />are not covered by vegetation shall be treated to prevent the <br />blowing or scattering of dust particles in the air. Any tree, <br />shrub or other plant material on the premises which overhangs a <br />public entrance, driveway, or public walk shall be trimmed to avoid <br />obstruction of view or movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
