S838 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO <br />LICENSES AND BUSINESS REGULATIONS, BY REPEALING <br />SECTION 18-123 THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE <br />NO. 4548, ENACTED DECEMBER 22, 1989, AND ENACTING <br />IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br />"SECTION 18-123, HOURS WHEN SOLICITING PROHIBITED," <br />PROVIDING FOR NEW HOURS RESTRICTING SOLICITATION, <br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIV~S~TY <br />CITY, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Seetion l. Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code of the City <br />of University City, relating to licenses and business <br />regulations is hereby amended by repealing Section 18-123 <br />thereof, as amended by Ordinance No. 4548, enacted December <br />22, 1969, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be <br />known as "Section 18-123. Hours when soliciting prohibited," <br />so as to provide for new hours restricting solicitation; <br />relating to the same subject, and re-enacting said section, <br />so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 18-123. Hours when solioitin~ prohibited: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Any individual or family may, by the use of an <br />appropriate sign, forbid solicitation at any time. <br />The sign must be conspicuously placed on the door <br />or window and be of sufficient size and print type <br />to be reasonably discernable. <br /> <br />(b) <br /> <br />If any individual or family wishes to restrict <br />solicitation to certain hours or to forbid <br />solicitation after certain hours, the restricted <br />hours must be clearly stated on the sign. <br /> <br />(o) <br /> <br />For those persons who do not wish to restrict <br />access by sign, solicitation shall be permitted <br />as follows: During the fall and winter months <br />of November, December, January, February, and <br />March, the restrictions against solicitation <br />will begin at 7:00 p.m. During the spring, <br />summer, and fall months of April, May, June, <br />July, August, September, and October, the re- <br />strictions against solicitation will begin at <br />8:30 p.m. <br /> <br />It shall be unlawful for any person to enter <br />upon any private residential property in the <br />city if the property is posted as provided in <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
