( CHAPTER 28 MECHANICAL EQUIPMENT AND SYSTEMS ) <br /> (SECTION 2800.0 GENERAL) <br /> <br />2801.2 Mechanical code: All mechanical equipment and systems shall be constructed, <br />installed and maintained in accordance with the mechanical code adopted by the City of <br />University City, Missouri. <br /> <br />(SECTION 2812.0 BOILER ENCLOSURES) <br /> <br />2812.1 Boiler area enclosures: Every boiler or combination boiler shall be installed <br />in a protected area with an enclosure designed to prevent unauthorized entry, and which <br />allows a minimum clearance of 24 inches (610 mm) on all service sides. A locked door <br />or gate shall be provided for such enclosure openable on the inside without a key. <br />Storage or living quarters shall not be permitted in any enclosure for a boiler or similar <br />heating equipment. <br /> <br />Exception:Heating boilers located in buildings of Use Group <br />R-3 and Use Group R-2 containing six dwelling units or less. <br /> <br />( CHAPTER 29 PLUMBING SYSTEMS ) <br /> (SECTION 2900.0 GENERAL) <br /> <br />2901.1 Scope: The design and installation of plumbing systems, including sanitary and <br />storm drainage, sanitary facilities, water supplies and storm water and sewage disposal <br />in buildings, shall comply with the requirements of this article and the plumbing code <br />adopted by the City of University City, Missouri. <br /> <br />(SECTION 2904.0 PERMITS AND CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL) <br /> <br />2904.6 Homeowner permits: Subject to all provisions of Sections 2903.6.1 through <br />2903.6.6, a permit may be issued to the owner or to a member of the owner's immediate <br />family for the repair or modification (including the installation of additional fixtures of <br />an existing plumbing or drainage system on the premises of a detached one-family <br />dwelling including accessory structures. <br /> <br />2904.6.1 The dwelling shall be designed and used solely for living purposes. <br /> <br />2904.6.2 The dwelling shall be occupied by the permittee. <br /> <br />2904.6.3 The permittee shall personally perform all required work. <br /> <br />2904.6.4 Prior to the issuance of a permit under this Section, the code official <br />shall determine that the request for a permit complies with the foregoing <br />provisions and that the applicant has the necessary knowledge and ability to <br />perform the proposed work. <br /> <br />-14- <br /> <br /> <br />
