Location of shutoff valves: Shutoff valves shall be installed in the following P-1506.2 locations: 1. 2. 3. On the fixture supply to each plumbing fixture other than in individual guest rooms in buildings of Use Group R-1 that are provided with unit shutoff valves. On the water supply pipe to each sillcock. On the water supply pipe to each appliance or mechanical equipment. Section 2. Saving Clause: Nothing in this ordinance or in the Plumbing Code hereby adopted shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding pending in any court, or any rights acquired or liability incurred, or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing under any act or ordinance hereby repealed, as cited herein. Section 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, provision, sentence, clause or phrase of this ordinance or of the BOCA National Plumbing Code, Ninth Edition, 1993, is for any reasons held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining pertions of this ordinance or of said code and supplement, and the City Council of the City of University City hereby declares that it would have passed the same, even though such portion so held to be unconstitutional had not been included herein, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. Section 4. Penalty: Any person, firm or corporation violating any provisions of this ordinance, shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalty provided in Chapter 1, Section 1-8 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City. Section 5. Effective Date: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its date of passage, as provided by law. PASSED this 2nd day of May, 1994.
