<br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 17 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE
<br />CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO
<br />MINIMUM STANDARDS GOVERNING THE CONDITIONS AND MAINTENANCE
<br />OF ALL EXISTING STRUCTURES, PREMISES AND EXTERIOR PROPERTY, AND
<br />ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAFFER WHICH IS TO BE KNOWN AS
<br />"CHAPTER 17, PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE" SO AS TO ADOPT THE
<br />BOCA NATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, FOURTH EDITION, 1993;
<br />CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY.

<br /> WHEREAS, subsequent to the approval on April 1, 1991 of Ordinance No. 5794,
<br />adopting by reference with certain modifications the BOCA National Property Maintenance
<br />Code, Third Edition, 1990, published by the Building Officials and Code Administrators
<br />International, Inc., a new edition known as the BOCA National Property Maintenance Code,
<br />Fourth Edition, 1993 has been published by said Building Officials and Code Administrators
<br />International, Inc., and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, it is desired to adopt by reference, "The BOCA National Property
<br />Maintenance Code, Fourth Edition, 199Y as published by the Building Officials and Code
<br />Administrators International, Inc. with certain modifications as hereinafter sot forth,
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF UNIVERSITY
<br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
<br />
<br /> .~fjj.QB_L Chapter 17 of the Municipal Code of University City relating to the
<br />Property Maintenance Code and Ordinance Number 5794 is hereby repealed and a new chapter
<br />to be known as "Chapter 17, Property Maintenance Code" is hereby enacted in lieu thereef, so
<br />as to adopt the BOCA National Property Maintenance Code, Fourth Edition, 1993, relating to
<br />the same subject and teenacting said Chapter so that said Chapter as so enacted shall read as
<br />follows:

<br />See 17-1. ADOPTION
<br />The BOCA National Property Maintenance Code, Fourth Edition, 1993, as published by
<br />the Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., three copies of which
<br />are on file in the office of the City Clerk and a copy of which is attached hereto, be and
<br />is adopted as the Property Maintenance Code of the City of University City, Missouri
<br />for the control of existing structures, premisos and exterior property as herein provided,
<br />and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the BOCA
<br />National Property Maintenance Code, Fourth Edition, 1993 are hereby referred to,
<br />adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully sot out in this ordinance with the
<br />amendments,additions,insortions, and deletions prescribed in Sections 17-2 of this
<br />Chapter.
