BILL NO. INTRODUCED BY COUNGILM~BER ADAMS 8230 ORDINANCE NO. 6014 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICIALS FOR EXPENSES INCURRED BY THEM IN OPERATING THEIR OWN AUTOMOBILES IN TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS FOR THE CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 5848. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section !. From and after June 28, 1995, the officials in the position hereinafter set fodh may be required to operate their own automobiles and if so required receive, upon prior authorization of the City Manager, the following amounts monthly for expenses paid by them in operating their automobiles in business for the City: Assistant Fire Chief Chief Prevention and Safety Officer Director of Public Works Assistant Director of Public Works Director of Planning (Building Commissioner) Director of Parks, Recreation and Forestry Forester Engineering Assistant II Engineering Assistant III Assistant City Engineer Inspector I Inspector II Construction Inspector (prior years classed as building/plumbing/electric inspector) Deputy Building Commissioner Zoning Administrator Director of Finance and Community Development 124.00 124.00 78.00 21.00 60.00 91.00 83.00 85.00 85.00 91.00 120.00 120.00 140.00 83.00 60.00 50.00 Section 2. From and after May 22, 1992, all City employees other than those enumerated in Section 1 above, not receiving a regular automobile allowance but operating their own automobiles on City business, upon prior authorization by their department head, shall be compensated at the rate of twenty-five and one half (25.5) cents per mile. Section 3. In the event the City furnishes any of the officials enumerated above automotive equipment to be used in their work, the amounts specified for operating their own private vehicles shall be terminated.
