BILL NO. <br /> <br />8284 <br /> <br />INTRODUCED BY COUNCILMEMBER SCHOOMER <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />6066 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5653 TO <br />ESTABLISH A NEW TAX INCREMENT FINANCING COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI PURSUANT TO THE <br />TIF ACT AS AMENDED. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City, Missouri (the "City") wishes to consider the <br />adoption of tax increment allocation financing ("TIF") and the designation of a <br />redevelopment area under provisions of the Real Property Tax Increment Allocation <br />Redevelopment Act, as amended (the "TIF Act"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Section 99.820 of the TIF Act as amended requires that prior to <br />designating a redevelopment area, the City shall create a nine member commission <br />which shall include representatives of affected school districts and other taxing <br />districts and which is empowered to hold a public hearing and make <br />recommendations concerning the proposed redevelopment area to the Council of <br />the City; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City wishes to amend Ordinance No. 5653 which established a <br />seven (7) member Tax Increment Financing Commission of the City of University City <br />to establish a new nine (9) member commission to conform with the provisions of <br />Section 99.820 of the TIF Act; <br /> <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Ordinance No. 5653 of the City is hereby amended by repealing <br />sections 1,2, 3, 4, and 5 thereof and by adopting in lieu thereof the following four new <br />sections numbered 2 through 5 inclusive. <br /> <br /> Section 9. There is hereby established the Tax Increment Financing Commission <br />of the City of University City, Missouri (the "TIF Commission"). The TIF Commission shall <br />consist of nine (9) members as follows: <br /> <br /> Six (6) members shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of a <br />majority of the City Council. <br /> <br /> Two (2) members who shall be appointed by the school boards whose <br />districts are included within the redevelopment plan or the redevelopment <br />area. Such members shall be appointed in any manner agreed upon by the <br />affected districts; and <br /> <br /> <br />
