(Use Group R-3 structures) 310.5.2 Group homes: A group home serving ten or fewer individual persons shall be classified as Use Group R-3, unless it serves more than five children 2 ~ years of age or younger. (Use Group R-4 structures) 310.6.1 Administrative requirements. The provisions of Chapter 1 of this code shall apply to Use Group R-4. 310.6.2 Specific requirements. All Use Group R-4 structures shall comply with the following sections of this code: 407.0 Pdvate Garages 421.0 Swimming Pools 508.0 Closing Existing Extedor Openings 920.1.1 Existing buildings (Smoke detectors) 1301.2 Design conditions (Energy conservation) 1608.3 Local ground snow loads 1609.3 Local basic wind speed 1610.1.3 Local earthquake design criteda 1813.7 Site grading 2703.0 (Electrical permits and licensing) 2901.2 2901.3 2904.0 2905.3 2905.6 2905.7 2906.1 3107.12.4 Location of water service and sewers Freezing (water piping and sewers) (Plumbing permits and licensing) Public water supply Location of full open valves Location of shut off valves Sewer connection Certified elevations (Flood hazard zones) 310.6.3 Specific mechanical requirements. All gas-fired log lighters installed in buildings of Use Group R-4 shall comply with the provisions of Section 809.1 of the mechanical code listed in Chapter 35. 310.6.4 Specific plumbing requirements. Fixture clearances in buildings of Use Group R-4 shall comply with the provisions of Section 406.3.1 of the plumbing code listed in Chapter 35. ( CHAPTER 4 SPECIAL USE AND OCCUPANCY REQUIREMENTS ) (SECTION 420.0 MOBILE UNITS) 420.1 General: Mobile units, including mobile homes, travel trailers and truck trailers, shall not be occupied or used for human habitation, human occupancy or storage purposes unless the mobile unit is placed on a permanent foundation and complies with the requirements of this section. Exception: Temporary site office and storage facilities in connection with construction operations for a limited pedod of time as approved by the code official. ( SECTION 421.0 SWIMMING POOLS ) 421.1 General: For the purposes of this code, swimming pools are classified as pdvate swimming pools or public swimming pools, as defined in Section 421.2., except that private swimming pools shall include structures that contain water of any depth and shall include pools that are used in connection with occupancy in Use Group R-4 as well as R-3.. Materials and construction used in swimming pools shall comply with the applicable requirements of this code. Swimming pools, bathing pools, ponds, hot tubs and spas which are capable of containing water more than 18 inches (458 mm) in depth shall be enclosed in accordance with Section 421.9 or Section 421.10. -10-
