Amendment to Section 34-90, Page 4 of 12 <br /> <br />business or institutional purposes or having painted <br />thereon or affixed thereto a sign identifying a business, <br />institution, or a principal produce or service or a <br />business; or any motor vehicle used primarily for the <br />transportation of persons for a fee or charge such as <br />buses or taxicabs. <br /> <br />Commonly Usable Residential Open Space (C.U.R.O.S.): Any <br />outdoor area of such size, shape and location as to <br />provide for specific outdoor living functions, such as <br />patios, playgrounds, or swimming pools, or outdoor <br />service functions such as laundry drying. Site area <br />considered as C.U.R.O.S. must be available and accessible <br />for all residential occupants of a given building or <br />development, and may include only those spaces enclosing <br />an area of at least three hundred (300) square feet, and <br />measuring fifteen (15) feet in width at the narrowest <br />point. <br /> <br />Convalescent Home: Any premises, other than a nursing <br />home, hospital or residential substance abuse treatment <br />center, which provides twenty-four hour care, <br />accommodation and board in order to aid individuals in <br />the gradual recovery of health and strength after illness <br />or weakness, including a "Residential Care Facility I" or <br />a "Residential Care Facility II" as defined by Chapter <br />198 of the Missouri Revised Statutes. <br /> <br />Convenience Service Retail Uses: Small establishments <br />designed and intended to service the daily or frequent <br />trade or service needs of surrounding population. Such <br />establishments include grocery stores, variety stores, <br />drug stores, coin-operated laundry and dry-cleaning <br />establishments, beauty shops, barber shops, and medical <br />and dental office. Specifically excluded are automobile <br />filling and service stations and carry-out and drive-in <br />restaurants. <br /> <br />Decibel: <br />sound. <br /> <br />A unit of measurement of the intensity of <br /> <br />Density: The number of dwelling units that may be <br />constructed per acre or per square feet of a zoning lot <br />area. <br /> <br />Detached Single-family Dwelling: A building containing <br />only one dwelling unit and entirely surrounded by yards <br />or other separating from other buildings or adjacent <br />lots. <br /> <br />Development Standard: Regulations which limit the size, <br />bulk or siting conditions of discrete types of <br /> <br /> <br />
