BILL NO. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. ~ I ~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF <br />THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY RELATING TO ZONING BY <br />ENACTING SECTION 34-55, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-55 TELECOMMTZNICATION ANTENNAS, <br />TOWERS AND SUPPORT STRUCTURES"; CONTAINING A SAVING <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the city of <br />University City (University City Zoning Code) divides the city into <br />several zoning districts, and regulates the uses to which the <br />~ ~ located therein may be put; and <br />~_em~ses <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission in a meeting held at the <br />City Hall on August 27, 1997, at 7:30 p.m. recommended the addition <br />of Section 34-55 to the University City Zoning Code by adding <br />"TELECOMMUNICATION ANTENNAS, TOWERS AND SUPPORT STRUCTURES" as <br />Section 34-55; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, due notice of a public hearing to be held by the City <br />Council in the City Council Chambers at City Hall at 7:30 p.m., <br /> q-~-~7 , 1997, was duly published in the St. Louis Countian, <br />a newspaper of general circulation within said City or <br /> ~-A~- qq , 1997; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, said public hearing was held at the time and place <br />specified in said notice, and all suggestions or objections <br />concerning said amendment were duly heard and considered by the <br />council; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of <br />University City, Missouri, relating to zoning is hereby amended <br />enacting a new section to be known as "SECTION 34-55 <br />TELECOMMUNICATION ANTENNAS, TOWERS AND SUPPORT STRUCTURES" relating <br />to the same subject, and said section, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 34-55 TELECOMMUNICATIONS ANTENNAS, TOWERS AND <br />SUPPORT STRUCTURES <br /> <br />Definitions: As used in this Section the following <br />terms shall have the meanings shown herein. <br />Antenna: Any device that transmits and/or receives <br />electromagnetic signals for voice, data or video <br />communications purposes including, but not limited <br />to, television, AM/FM radio, microwave, cellular <br />telephone and similar forms of communications. The <br />term shall exclude satellite earth station antennas <br />less than 6 feet in diameter and used only for home <br />television reception. <br /> <br /> <br />
