It shall be the duty of every weigher to weigh such <br />empty vehicles and to issue to the driver of such empty vehicle a certificate of weighing, crossing out the <br />spaces for Gross and Net weights, which certificates shall be signed by bonded weigher and signed by the <br />driver of the empt3' vehicle acknowledging the correctness of such empty weight. Such certificates when <br />issued by duly licensed weighers of the City of St. Louis will be acceptable in lieu of such a certificate <br />issued by a weigher licensed by St. Louis County, provided same was issued within the preceding seven (7) <br />days. The weight certificate so issued shall during the remainder of the following week be kept in the <br />possession of the driver of the vehicle for which issued and shall be subject to calla t any time by the <br />Supervisor of Weights and Measures of his assistants and by variation over the tolerance hereinafter <br />established in the actual weight of the empty vehicle and the tare weight shown on such certificate shall be <br />considered prima faeie evidence that such tare weight was altered or changed by the owner or driver of such <br />vehicle. It shall be the duty of the owner or driver of any vehicle, on which repairs or alterations have been <br />made that might change the are weight of the vehicle, to immediately after such work to have the vehicle <br />reweighed and a certificate issued establishing the new tare weight. It shall be the duty of the owner or <br />driver of all vehicles in hauling any other commodity, sold by weight, to have their respective empty <br />vehicles weighed every day when in use. <br /> <br />618.550 Loaded Vehicles to Be Weighed Only on Scales on Which Vehicle While Empty Was <br /> Weighed. Vehicles, when used in hauling solid fuel, shall be weighed only on scales on <br />which the vehicle while empty shall have been weighed within one week prior thereto and no bonded <br />weigher shall issue his certificate of weighing unless the vehicle used in the hauling shall have been weighed <br />while empty on the scale operated by him within one week prior thereto. <br /> <br />618.560 Solid Fuel Sold in Baskets. In all cases where solid fuel is sold in baskets or other similar <br />receptacles, such solid fuel shall be sold b net weight only. All such baskets or other receptacles, whenever <br />containing solid fuel for sale or delivery, shall be marked or labeled as to plainly show the net weight of the <br />contents thereof. No person to whom this Section applies shall sell or offer for sale, or have in his <br />possession for the purpose of sale, solid fuel in baskets or other like receptacles which are not so marked <br />as to plainly show the correct net weight of the contents thereof. <br /> <br />(a) Method of sale of fuel wood. All wood for fuel purposes shall be sold or offered for sale by <br />the cord or fractional part thereof, with the exception of kindling. When such fuel wood is sold, it <br />shall be accompanied by a bill of sale bearing the name and address of the seller, the name and <br />address of the purchaser, and the quantity of wood contained in the delivery in terms of cords or <br />fractional parts thereof. At the time of&livery, such bills of sale, signed by the seller, shall be given <br />to the purchaser specified thereon. <br /> <br />618.570 Tolerances. On the re-weighing of any load of solid fuel or any empty vehicle used in the <br />delivery of such fuel, the following tolerances shall be permiRed to cover variations in the tare weights of <br />the vehicles used and the natural variations between vehicle scales.
