Do <br /> <br />of the benefits herein provided for the surviving spouse and minor children of <br />employees who sustained injuries or death while in the discharge of their duties; <br /> <br />To an employee retired after January 1, 1993, on account of age, length of service and <br />length of time in this fund, as set forth in Section 2.62.080(C), a monthly benefit according <br />to the following: .. <br /> <br />Years of Years of Percentage of <br />Service Membership in Fund Base Monthly Salary <br /> <br />Fo <br /> <br />25 25 65 <br />26 26 66 <br />27 27 67 <br />28 28 68 <br />29 29 69 <br />30 or more 30 or more 70 <br /> <br />Funeral Benefits. <br /> <br />There shall be paid upon the death of any active employee a funeral benefit in the <br />sum equal to one month's base salary then in effect; <br /> <br />There shall be paid upon the death of an employee retired under Sections <br />2.62.080(A) or (C) a funeral benefit in the sum equal to one month's base salary in <br />effect at the time of death; <br /> <br />There shall be paid upon the death of an employee retired under Section 2.62.090 <br />or 2.62.100 a funeral benefit in the sum equal to one month's base salary in effect <br />at the date the employee became disabled; <br /> <br />There shall be paid upon the death of any employee retired under Section 2.62.090 or upon <br />service-connected death as provided in Section 2.62.090, the following: <br /> <br />To the employee's surviving spouse, a monthly benefit of twenty-five (25) percent <br />of the monthly base salary in effect at the date of the employee's retirement or at <br />the employee's death until the death or remarriage of, such surviving spouse, <br />provided any employee retired under Section 2.62.090 shall also have been <br />married to said surviving spouse at the time of the employee's injury; <br /> <br />° <br /> <br />To the lawful guardian of such employee's surviving minor unmarried child or <br />children under the age of eighteen (18) years, provided such child or children shall <br />have been born within ten months after the employee's retirement or the employee's <br />death in service, a monthly benefit of ten percent of the monthly base salary as <br />previously described for such child or children until such child or children attain the <br />age of eighteen (18) years or marry; provided, the combined monthly payments to <br />such surviving spouse and children shall in no case exceed sixty (60) percent of the <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
