BILL No. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 8.08 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO THE FIRE PREVENTION CODE, AND <br />ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW CHAPTER TO BE KNOWN AS <br />"CHAPTER 8.08 FIRE PREVENTION CODE," THEREBY AMENDING SAID <br />CHAPTER SO AS TO ADOPT THE BOCA NATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION <br />CODE, ELEVENTH ADDITION, 1999, WITH CERTAIN ADDITIONS, <br />INSERTIONS, DELETIONS AND CHANGES; CONTAINING A SAVING <br />CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Chapter 8.08 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to the Fire <br />Prevention Code, is hereby repealed and a new chapter to be known as "Chapter 8.08 Fire Prevention <br />Code," is hereby enacted in lieu thereof, thereby amending said chapter so as to adopt the BOCA <br />National Fire Prevention Code, Eleventh Edition, 1999, with certain additions, insertions, deletions <br />and changes; said new chapter shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 8.08.010 Code adopted. <br /> <br />The BOCA National Fire Prevention Code, Eleventh Edition, 1999, as published by <br />Building Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., three copies of which <br />are on file in the office of the city clerk and a copy of which is attached hereto, is <br />adopted as the fire prevention code of the city, and the contents thereof are made a <br />part hereof as if fully set forth in this chapter, with the additions, insertions, deletions <br />and changes prescribed in Section 8.08.020. <br /> <br />Section 8.08.020 Additions, insertions, deletions and changes. <br /> <br />The following numbered subsections and provisions of the BOCA National Fire Prevention <br />Code, Eleventh Edition, 1999, are amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section F-101.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the Fire Prevention Code <br />of the City of University City, Missouri, hereinafier referred to as "this code." <br /> <br />Section F-110.3.2 Lock box: When access to or within a structure or an area is <br />unduly difficult because of secured openings or where immediate access is necessary <br />for life saving or firefighting purposes, the code official may require that a key box <br />be installed in an accessible location. The key box shall be a type approved by the <br />code official and shall contain the information and keys necessary for fire, police and <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
