Chapter 15.04 <br />Building Code <br /> <br />Section 15.04.010 Adoption. <br /> <br />The BOCA National Building Code, Fourteenth Edition, 1999, as published by the Building <br />Officials and Code Administrators International, Inc., three copies of which are on file in the office <br />of the city clerk and available for public use, inspection and examination, and a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth herein, is hereby adopted as <br />the Building Code of the City of University City, Missouri, subject to the amendments, additions, <br />insertions and deletions set out in Section 15.04.030 of this chapter. <br /> <br />Section 15.04.030 Additions, insertions, deletions and amendments. <br /> <br />The following numbered sections and subsections of the BOCA National Building Code, Fourteenth <br />Edition, 1999, are hereby amended by additions, insertions, deletions and amendments, so that such <br />amended and added sections and subsections shall read as follows: <br /> <br />(CHAPTER 1 ADMINISTRATION) <br /> <br />(SECTION 101.0 SCOPE) <br /> <br />101.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the Building Code of the City of University City, <br />Missouri, hereinafter referred to as "this code." The terms: "name of jurisdiction" or "local <br />jurisdiction" wherever employed herein or in the standards referenced in Chapter 35 shall mean the <br />City of University City, Missouri. <br /> <br />(SECTION 102.0 APPLICABILITY) <br /> <br />102.3 Determination of essential requirements: Any requirement relative to the manner of <br />construction or material to be used in the construction, erection, alteration, addition, repair, removal, <br />demolition, location, use, occupancy or maintenance of a structure, or to the installation of service <br />equipment, which is essential to insure the public safety, health or welfare, and which is not <br />specifically covered by the provisions of this code, shall be as determined by the code official on the <br />basis of the legislative intent of this code as set fo~h in Section 101.4 and the provisions of this code <br />for similar or related matters. <br /> <br />102.5 Coordination with other jurisdictions: Where a building, structure or premises is <br />constructed partially outside the city limits, the code official shall be authorized to enter into <br />agreements with the adjoining code jurisdictions to avoid duplication of permits, inspections and <br />fees. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
