(CHAPTER 29 PLUMBING SYSTEMS) <br /> <br />(SECTION 2900.0 GENERAL) <br /> <br />2901.1 Scope: The design and installation of plumbing systems, including sanitary and storm <br />drainage, sanitary facilities, water supplies and storm water and sewage disposal in buildings, shall <br />comply with the requirements of this chapter and the 2000 Edition of the ICC International Plumbing <br />Code listed in Chapter 35. <br /> <br />2901.2 Location of water service and sewers: No part of the plumbing system, including water <br />service pipes and building sewers shall be located in any lot other than the lot which is the site of <br />the structure or premises served by such facilities. <br /> <br />2901.3 Freezing: Water service piping and sewers shallbe installed below recorded fi-ost penetration <br />but not less than three (3) feet six (6) inches below grade for water piping and two (2) feet six (6) <br />inches below grade for sewers. Plumbing pipes in exterior building walls or areas subject to freezing <br />temperatures shall be adequately protected from freezing by insulation or heat or both. <br /> <br />2901.4 Separate facilities: Separate toilet facilities shall be provided for each sex. <br /> <br />Exceptions: <br /> <br />Within dwelling units. <br />Within individual guest rooms in Use Group R-1. <br />Single-occupant toilet rooms designed for use by both sexes. <br /> <br />2901.5 Storm drainage discharge at grade: Storm water collected from roofs, paved areas, yards, <br />courts and sub-soil drainage systems serving one- and two-family dwellings, and in other locations <br />where approved, shall be permitted to discharge onto flat areas of the site provided the discharge is <br />located at least five (5) feet fi-om the elnsest lot line or the approved side set-back of the proposed <br />structure or existing structures. Storm water must be discharged in an approved manner so as not <br />to create a nuisance. <br /> <br />(SECTION 2904.0 PERMITS AND CERTIFICATES OF APPROVAL) <br /> <br />2904.5 Homeowner permits: Subject to all provisions of sections 2904.6.1 through 2904.6.6, a <br />permit shall be issued to the owner or to a member of the owner's immediate family for the repair <br />or modification (including the installation of additional fixtures) of an existing plumbing or drainage <br />system on the premises of a detached one-family dwelling, including accessory structures. <br /> <br />2904.6.1 The dwelling shall be designed and used solely for living purposes. <br /> <br />2904.6.2 The dwelling shall be occupied by the permittee. <br /> <br />23 <br /> <br /> <br />
