Moratoriutn on Adult Businesses - Bill / Ordinance Page 2 of 2 <br /> <br />businesses, including adult book stores, adult novelty stores, adult video stores, adult places of <br />entertainment and other sexually oriented businesses shall not be approved or any permit authorizing <br />any such use granted. <br /> <br /> Section 2. This ordinance shall not be construed so as to relieve any person, firm or <br />corporation from any penalty incurred by the violation of Chapter 34, nor bar the prosecution of <br />any such violation. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of this <br />ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to the penalties provided in Chapter 34, <br />Section 34.115 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City. <br /> <br /> Section 4. It is hereby declared that an emergency exists in that there exists the possibility <br />that "adult" / sexually oriented businesses may seek approval for a permit to occupy and/or a license <br />to operate prior to the study of the issues related to "adult" or sexually oriented businesses being <br />completed; <br /> <br /> Section 5.
