ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.48 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO PARKING METERS, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.48.070 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING METER FEES, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.48.070 PARKING METER FEES - MANNER OF PAYMENT AND SCHEDULE - PARKING WITHOUT DEPOSITING FEE IN METER;" THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO ESTABLISH A FLAT FEE WHEN AN ATTENDANT IS ON DUTY AT THE MUNICIPAL PARKING GARAGE IN ZONE F; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 10.48 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to parking meters, is hereby amended by repealing Section 10.48.070 thereof, relating to parking meter fees, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 10.48.070. Parking meter fees - Manner of payment and schedule - Parking without depositing fee in meter:" thereby amending said section so as to establish a flat fee when an attendant is on duty at the Municipal Parking Garage in Zone F; so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: 10.48.070 Parkinq meter fees - Manner of payment and schedule - Parking without depositing fee in meter. For the purpose of defraying the cost to the city of purchasing and installing parking meters and of regulating, supervising and policing the exercise of the privilege of parking in parking meter zones, there is hereby established a parking fee for the parking zones enumerated in Section 10.48.030 of the following amounts for the privilege of parking a vehicle in a parking space, which fee shall be paid by depositing a coin or coins in the parking meter adjacent to the parking space in which a vehicle is parked: Zone A-For six minutes or less, five cents ($0.05). For thirty (30) minutes or less, twenty-five cents ($0.25). Zone B-For twelve (12) minutes or less, ten cents ($0.10). For sixty (60) minutes or less, fifty cents ($0.50). Zone C-For twelve (12) minutes or less, then cents ($0.10). For sixty (60) minutes or less, fifty cents ($0.50). Zone D-For sixty (60) minutes or less, fifteen cents ($0.15). For eight hours or less, seventy-five cents(S0.75). Zone E-For six minutes or less, five cents ($0.05). For thirty (30) minutes or less, twenty-five cents ($0.25). Zone F-For six minutes or less, five cents ($0.05). For thirty (30) minutes or less, twenty-five cents ($0.25). It shall be unlawful for any person not having a parking permit issued pursuant to this chapter to park a vehicle in any parking space without there having been deposited in the parking meter the money to pay the fee imposed by this chapter.
