ORDINANCE NO. k~8 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.20 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO SPEED LIMITS, BY REPEALING SECTIONS 10.20.040 AND 10.20.060 THEREOF, RELATING TO THIRTY (30) MILE PER HOUR LIMIT ON CERTAIN MAJOR THOROUGHFARES, AND THIRTY-FIVE (35) MILE PER HOUR LIMIT ON CERTAIN MAJOR THOROUGHFARES, RESPECTIVELY, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF NEW SECTIONS TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.20.040 THIRTY (30) MILE PER HOUR LIMIT ON CERTAIN MAJOR THOROUGHFARES," AND "SECTION 10.20.060 THIRTY-FIVE (35) MILE PER HOUR LIMIT ON CERTAIN MAJOR THOROUGHFARES;" THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTIONS SO AS TO CHANGE THE SPEED LIMIT ON DELMAR BLVD. FROM THIRTY-FIVE (35) MILES PER HOUR TO THIRTY (30) MILES PER HOUR FROM HANLEY ROAD TO 1-170; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 10.20 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to speed limits, is hereby amended by repealing Sections 10.20.040 and 10.20.060 thereof, relating to thirty (30) mile per hour limit on certain major thoroughfares, and thirty-five (35) mile per hour limit on certain major thoroughfares, respectively, and enacting in lieu thereof new sections to be known as "Section 10.20.040 Thirty (30) mile per hour limit on certain major thoroughfares", and "Section 10.20.060 Thirty-five (35) mile per hour limit on certain major thoroughfares"; thereby amending said sections so as to change the speed limit on Delmar Blvd. from thirty-five (35) miles per hour to thirty (30) miles per hour from Hanley Road to 1-170; so that said sections, as so amended, shall read as follows: 10.20.040 Thirty (30) mile per hour limit on certain major thoroughfares.
