<br />BILL NO. <br /> <br />i?'l b ( <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />ibs~t _ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, RELATING TO ZONING, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 34-104.2 THEREOF RELATING TO PERMITTED <br />SIGNS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 34-104.2 PERMITTED SIGNS," BY AMENDING <br />SAID SECTION SO AS TO ADD SECTIONS REGULATING FLAGS; <br />CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting held at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. on January 26, 2005, the <br />University City Plan Commission recommended an amendment of Section 34-104.2 of the <br />University City Zoning Code by adding provisions regulating flags; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, due notice of public hearings to be held by the City Council in the City <br />Council Gwm~t ~ity HalI_ at 6:30 p.m. on ~ 1 A:)o '7 , was duly published <br />in the ,M / ~~ a newspaper of general ci1rculation within said City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said public hearings were held at the time and place specified in said notice, <br />and all suggestions or objections concerning said amendment were duly heard and considered by <br />the City Council; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 34 of the Municipal Code of the City of University City, Missouri, <br />relating to zoning is hereby amended by repealing Section 34-104.2, relating to Permitted Signs, <br />and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 34-104.2 Permitted Signs," by <br />amending said section so as to regulate flags, as so amended shall read as follows: <br /> <br />34-104.2 Permitted signs. <br /> <br />Except as otherwise limited in this section, the following types of signs are permitted, <br />without a sign permit, in all of the zoning districts of University City: <br />1. Real Estate Signs. <br />a. Consisting oftemporary signs not exceeding four square feet in gross area for each <br />ten thousand (10,000) square feet of lot area or fraction thereof and not exceeding <br />three feet in height for each ten thousand (10,000) square feet oflot area or fraction <br />thereof; provided, the height limitations shall not apply to signs displayed in windows <br />or attached directly to building walls.
