STANDING AND PARKING <br />GENERALL Y, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.40.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO <br />STOPPING. STANDING AND PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES-- <br />EXCEPTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.40.020 STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING <br />PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES--EXCEPTIONS," THEREBY AMENDING <br />SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING ANY <br />TIME ON BIG BEND BLVD., BOTH SIDES, FROM DELMAR BLVD. TO FORSYTH <br />BLVD. EXCEPT BY BUS STOPS AND TO PROHIBIT PARKING, STOPPING OR <br />STANDING ANY TIME ON FOREST PARK PKWY., BOTH SIDES, FROM THE <br />CITY LIMITS WITH CLAYTON CITY TO THE CITY LIMITS OF ST. LOUIS CITY <br />EXCEPT BY BUS STOPS; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY. <br /> <br />10.40.020 Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places--Exceptions. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 10.40 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to stopping. standing <br />and parking generally, is hereby amended by repealing Section 10.40.020 thereof, relating to <br />stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places--exceptions, and enacting in lieu <br />thereof a new section to be known as "Section 10.40.020 stopping. standing and parking <br />prohibited in specified places--exceptions," thereby amending said section so as TO PROHIBIT <br />PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING ANY TIME ON BIG BEND BLVD., BOTH <br />SIDES, FROM DELMAR BLVD. TO FORSYTH BLVD. EXCEPT BY BUS STOPS AND <br />TO PROHIBIT PARKING, STOPPING OR STANDING ANY TIME ON FOREST PARK <br />PKWY., BOTH SIDES, FROM THE CITY LIMITS WITH CLAYTON CITY TO THE <br />CITY LIMITS OF ST. LOUIS CITY EXCEPT BY BUS STOPS; so that said section, as so <br />amended, shall read as follows: <br /> <br />10.40.020 Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places--Exceptions. <br /> <br />It is unlawful for the operator of a vehicle to stop, stand or park such vehicle in any of the <br />following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance <br />with the directions of a police officer or traffic-controlled sign or signal: <br />A. Within an intersection; <br />B. On a crosswalk; <br />C. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within thirty (30) feet of points on the curb <br />immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless the director of public works shall indicate <br />a different length by signs or markings; <br />D. Within twenty-five (25) feet from. the intersection of curblines, or, if none, then within fifteen <br />(15) feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection, except at alleys; <br />
