<br />INTRODUCED BY: Ms. Ricci <br /> <br />DATE July 16, 2007 <br /> <br />BILL NO.: 8943 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO.: 6698 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.32 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO MISCELLANEOUS VEHICLE AND <br />TRAFFIC REGULATIONS, BY ENACTING THEREIN A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 1 0.32.180 AUTOMATED PHOTO TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />SIGNAL ENFORCEMENT SYSTEM"; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY <br />CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Chapter 10.32 of the University City Municipal Code, relating <br />to miscellaneous vehicle and traffic regulations, is hereby amended by enacting <br />therein a new section to be known as "Section 10.32.180 Automated photo traffic <br />control signal enforcement system", which shall read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 10.32.180 Automated photo traffic control signal <br />enforcement system. <br /> <br />A. Definitions. As used in this section: <br />"Automated Photo Traffic Control Signal Enforcement System" means a <br />device consisting of a camera, or cameras, or other imaging device, and a <br />vehicle sensor or sensors, installed to work in conjunction with a traffic control <br />signal. <br /> <br />"Owner" means the owner(s) of a motor vehicle as shown on the motor <br />vehicle registration records of the Missouri Department of Revenue or the <br />analogous department or agency of another State or country. The term "owner" <br />includes the lessee of a motor vehicle under a lease of six months or more. <br /> <br />"Recorded Image" means an image digitally recorded or produced by an <br />Automated Photo Traffic Control Signal Enforcement System. <br /> <br />B. Automated Photo Control Signal Enforcement System Authorized. <br />An Automated Photo Traffic Control Signal Enforcement System is authorized to <br />be installed and operated within the City at the intersections of: 1. Delmar <br />Boulevard and Big Bend Boulevard; and 2. Delmar Boulevard and Hanley Road. <br />The Public Works Director is authorized to place and maintain signs near said <br />intersections, giving notice that an Automated Photo Traffic Control Signal <br />Enforcement System is in operation there. <br />
