<br />INTRODUCED BY: <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />DATE: August 20,2007 <br /> <br />Bill NO. <br /> <br />8951 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 6706 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ORDERING THE LEVY AND FIXING THE RATE <br />OF PROPERTY TAXES TO BE COLLECTED IN THE CITY OF <br />UNIVERSITY CITY FOR THE YEAR 2007 TO PROVIDE FOR <br />GENERAL REVENUE, TO PROVIDE FOR POLICE AND <br />FIREFIGHTER RETIREMENT, TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A FREE PUBLIC <br />LIBRARY AND READING ROOM, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />PAYMENT OF DEBT SERVICE FOR THE GENERAL <br />OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE CITY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCil OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, <br />MISSOURI, AS FOllOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. There is hereby levied for the year 2007 upon all real and personal <br />property, subject to taxation, in the City of University City, Missouri, the following <br />taxes for the following purposes, to wit: <br /> <br />A. For general revenue purposes a tax of $0.511 on residential property, <br />a tax of $0.570 on commercial property and a tax of $0.691 on <br />personal property, on each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed <br />valuation. <br /> <br />B. For Police and Firefighter Retirement purposes a tax of $0.144 on <br />residential property, a tax of $0.163 on commercial property and a tax <br />of $0.195 on personal property, on each one hundred dollars <br />($100.00) of assessed valuation. <br /> <br />C. For the establishment and maintenance of a free public library and <br />reading room authorized by vote of the qualified voters of said City at a <br />special election heretofore held, a tax of $0.223 on residential <br />property, a tax of $0.251 on commercial property and a tax of $0.301 <br />
