INTRODUCED BY: Mr. Wagner DATE: October 27, 2008 BILL NO. 9013 ORDINANCE NO. 6762 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING GENERALLY, BY REPEALING SECTION 10.40.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES-EXCEPTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.40.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING PROHIBITED IN SPECIFIED PLACES- EXCEPTIONS," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES FOR GOLF COURSE CUSTOMERS, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF GROBY RD. THEREOF FROM THE EAST LINE OF OLD BON HOMME RD TO THE WEST LINE OF TULANE AVE; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE City of University City, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 10.40 of the University City Municipal Code, relating to STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING GENERALLY, is hereby amended by repealing Section 10.40.020 thereof, relating to Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places-Exceptions, and enacting in lieu thereof a new section to be known as "Section 10.40.020 Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places-Exceptions," thereby amending said section so as TO PROHIBIT PARKING AT ALL TIMES FOR GOLF COURSE CUSTOMERS, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF GROBY RD. THEREOF FROM THE EAST LINE OF OLD BON HOMME RD TO THE WEST LINE OF TULANE AVE; so that said section, as so amended, shall read as follows: 10.40.020 Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places-Exceptions. It is unlawful for the operator of a vehicle to stop, stand or park such vehicle in any of the following places, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-controlled sign or signal: A. Within an intersection; B. On a crosswalk; C. Between a safety zone and the adjacent curb or within thirty (30) feet of points on the curb immediately opposite the ends of a safety zone, unless the director of public works shall indicate a different length by signs or markings; D. Within twenty-five (25) feet from the intersection of curblines, or, if none, then within fifteen (15) feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection, except at alleys; E. Within thirty (30) feet upon the approach of any flashing beacon or stop sign;
