Every exterior stairway (residential or non-residential) shall be illuminated at all <br /> times the building space served by the means of egress is occupied, with a minimum of 1 <br /> footcandle (11 lux) at floors, landings and treads. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 403 VENTILATION) <br /> <br /> 403.5 Clothes dryer exhaust. Clothes dryer exhaust systems shall be independent of all other <br /> systems, shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, and shall be <br /> properly vented to the exterior. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 404 OCCUPANCY LIMITATIONS) <br /> <br /> 404.2 Minimum room widths. Every bedroom shall comply with the requirements of all <br /> subsections under Section 404.4. <br /> <br /> 404.4.1 Areas for sleepinf purposes. Every bedroom occupied by one occupant shall contain at <br /> least 70 square feet (6.5 m ) of floor area, every bedroom occupied by two persons shall contain <br /> at least 100 square feet (4.6 m2) of floor area, and every bedroom occupied by three persons <br /> shall contain at least 150 square feet (13.95 m2 ) of floor area. <br /> <br /> 404.4.3 Water closet accessibility. Every bedroom shall have access to at least one water closet <br /> and one lavatory without passing through another bedroom. Every bedroom in a dwelling unit <br /> shall have access to at least one water closet and lavatory located in the same story as a bedroom, <br /> unless it is the only bedroom in the story. <br /> <br /> 404.4.90 Closets. Every bedroom shall have access to a closet opening into the room, with a <br /> minimum floor area of six square feet (.56 m2). Closet areas shall not be counted as part of the <br /> floor areas of rooms. <br /> <br /> 404.5 Overcrowding. Dwelling units shall not be occupied by more occupants than permitted by <br /> the minimum area requirements of Table 404.5. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 22 <br />
