<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> (CHAPTER 1 ADMINISTRATION) <br /> <br /> (SECTION 101 GENERAL) <br /> <br /> 101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Existing Building Code for the City <br /> of University City, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as "this code". <br /> <br /> 101.5 Compliance methods. The repair, alteration, change of occupancy, addition or <br /> relocation of all existing buildings shall comply with one of the methods listed in <br /> Sections 101.5.1 through 101.5.3 as selected by the applicant. By default, Section <br /> 101.5.2 work area compliance method shall be used. Application of a method shall be <br /> the sole basis for assessing the compliance of work performed under a single permit <br /> unless otherwise approved by the code official. Sections 101.5.1 through 101.5.3 shall <br /> not be applied in combination with each other. <br /> (SECTION 103 DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING SAFETY) <br /> <br /> 103.1 Enforcement agency. The term "department of building safety" whenever <br /> employed herein shall be construed to mean the Department of Community Development <br /> of the City of University City, Missouri. The term "code official" shall be construed to <br /> mean the building commissioner of the City of University City, Missouri or the duly <br /> authorized representative of the building commissioner. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 105 PERMITS) <br /> <br /> Section 105 Permits. Delete in its entirety. <br /> <br /> (SECTION 106 CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS) <br /> <br /> 106.1 Submittal documents. Construction documents, special inspection and structural <br /> observation programs, and other data shall be submitted in one or more sets with each <br /> application for a permit. The construction documents shall be prepared by a registered <br /> design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project <br /> is to be constructed. Where special conditions exist, the code official is authorized to <br /> require additional construction documents to be prepared by a registered design <br /> professional. <br /> Exception: Construction documents otherwise meeting the requirements of this Section <br /> which are submitted for a project, the details of which otherwise conform to the <br /> requirements of this code, but whose documented estimated cost does not exceed <br /> $25,000, need not have a design professional's stamp affixed. The issuance of a permit <br /> based on such documents does not relieve their originator from otherwise complying with <br /> applicable state laws concerning professional practice by unlicensed individuals. When <br /> the documented project cost estimate exceeds $25,000, or where special conditions exist, <br /> the code official will require the submittal of construction documents prepared by a <br /> registered design professional, as indicated by his or her stamp and signature or their <br /> <br /> <br /> 2 <br />
