INTRODUCED BY Mr. Crow DATE: September 24, 2012 BILL NO 9164 ORDINANCE NO 6899 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.48.010 AND 2.50.010 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CITIZEN MEMBERS SERVING ON THE BOARDS OF TRUSTEES OF THE NONUNIFORMED EMPLOYEES AND POLICE AND FIREMEN'S RETIREMENT FUNDS AND TO REVISE THE REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO EACH BOARD AND PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF TWO NEW CITIZEN MEMBERS TO EACH BOARD. WHEREAS, the members of the Boards of Trustees of the Nonuniformed Employees and the Police and Firemen's Retirement Funds currently include five citizen members; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to increase the number of citizen members to seven, for each board, and to this end desires to amend Sections 2.48.010 and 2.50.010 of the University City Municipal Code, as provided herein; and WHEREAS, the City Council further desires to revise the regulations pertaining to each board and to provide for the appointment of two new citizen members for each board to terms of less than four years, all as provided herein; { s NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 2.48.010, Board of Trustees Created—Composition and Meetings, of Chapter 2.48, Board of Trustees of the Nonuniformed Employees Retirement Fund, is hereby repealed, and a new Section 2.48.010 is enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows: Section 2.48.010 Board of Trustees Created—Composition and Meetings A. There shall be a board of trustees to consist of eleven members to be known as the board of trustees of the nonuniformed employees retirement fund.
