the board, two employees of the city (as defined in Section 2.64.010), and <br /> seven additional members who are bona fide citizens of the city. <br /> B. The city manager shall serve during his or her tenure of office and the <br /> member of the city council shall serve at the pleasure of the council. The <br /> employee members shall serve indefinitely, as selected and determined by <br /> the employees, or absent such selection, shall be appointed by the council. <br /> The citizen members shall serve for a term of four years. Citizen <br /> appointments shall be made at the first meeting of the council in July, and <br /> the terms shall be so staggered that two of them shall expire at one time, <br /> three shall expire one year later, and two shall expire one year thereafter. <br /> Citizen member vacancies shall be filled for the remainder of the term in <br /> like manner as original appointment. <br /> C. The board of trustees shall elect one of its members as chairperson, one <br /> as a vice-chair-person and appoint a secretary who may or may not be a <br /> member of the board. The director of finance of the city shall serve as <br /> treasurer of the board. No member of the board shall receive any <br /> compensation for this service as such <br /> D. At least one regular meeting of the board of trustees of the <br /> nonuniformed employees retirement fund shall be held each quarter, <br /> together with such additional meetings as may be required for the <br /> transaction of its business. <br /> Section 2. Section 2.50.010, Created—Composition and Terms of Office, of <br /> Chapter 2.50, Board of Trustees of the Police and Firemen's Retirement Fund, is hereby <br /> repealed, and a new Section 2.48.010 is enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows: <br /> Section 2.50.010 Created—Composition and Terms of Office <br /> A. There shall be a board of trustees to consist of eleven members to be <br /> known as the board of trustees of the police and firemen's retirement fund. <br /> The members of the board shall consist of the city manager and a member <br /> of the city council, neither of whom shall be a voting member of the <br /> board, two employees of the city (as defined in Section 2.64.010), and <br /> seven additional members who are bona fide citizens of the city. <br /> B.
