INTRODUCED BY Mr. Price DATE: September 23, 2013 <br /> BILL NO 9196 <br /> ORDINANCE NO 6928 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15.04 "BUILDING CODE" OF TITLE 15 OF THE <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF UNIVERSITY CITY, MISSOURI. <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. is the organization known to be an industry <br /> standard for construction codes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Code Council, Inc. reviews, proposes,p p es, develops and publishes <br /> model codes for adoption by municipalities; and <br /> WHEREAS, the International Building Code, 2012 Edition as published by the International <br /> Code Council, Inc. is the most widely adopted and utilized building code for state and local <br /> governments; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rates municipalities based on how <br /> current the municipality is with the latest model codes and, thus, a better rating can decrease <br /> insurance premiums paid by the citizens of the municipality; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of University City (the "City") desires to amend Chapter 15.04 "Building <br /> Code" of Title 15 of the Municipal Code in compliance with the requirements of the International Code <br /> Council, Inc. in order to attain a higher rating with the ISO and decreased insurance premiums for <br /> citizens of the City. <br /> t <br /> ( <br /> 1 <br /> fr: <br /> 1 <br /> 4. <br />
