Session 1793
September 25, 2000

the people in this neighborhood association. Mr. Ollendorff will look into each of the
concerns.

Ms. Cross reported an additional problem. On Purcell where it turns into Roberts there is a
house there where the City had put up a sign which stated that this was not a through way,
but a private drive. Yet there are people coming over from Pagedale by way of the creek.
The neighbors would like to know if there is a way to put some kind of barrier up at this
point to stop the Pagedale traffic from coming through. She believes that most of the
people causing the trouble in their neighborhood are coming from Pagedale. She asked
Council to recall a street there that Pagedale had boarded up to prevent U. City residents
from trafficking through. About a half a block down, right beside the creek, that lees over
to Buckner, she believes, is where they are coming through and they cause trouble and
hang out on the Raymond bridge. Mr. Schoomer said that the residents would have to
fence the drive and property themselves. The City can't make improvements on private
property. Ms. Hewitt asked if the City would not fence the area, if possibly signs could be
put up. Mr. Sharpe asked Ms. Cross to please call him with these concerns and he would
assist her. Ms. Cross will call Mr. Sharpe.

Ms. Colquirt asked Mr. Ollendorff to get with her and place a phone call to Mayor Carter
over in Pagedale. There are other streets and issues in other areas, as well, dealing with
unwanted Pagedale traffic. Possibly the phone call will help stop it from happening. Mr.
Ollendorff will get with her. Mayor Pro Tem Schoomer will inform Mayor Adams of this
request, as well.

ADJOURNMENT:

Mayor Pro Tem Schoomer asked for a motion to adjourn. Mr. Sharpe offered the motion,
with the second from Mr. Munkel. The motion carried unanimously. The meeting
adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

4
