Session 1795 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />October 21, 2000 <br /> <br />At a study session of the City Council of University City held in the Library Board Room of <br />the U. City Public Library Saturday, October 21, 2000, Mayor Joseph L. Adams called the <br />meeting to order at 9:09 a.m. In addition to the Mayor, the following members of the <br />Council were present: <br /> <br />Ms. Cassandra Colquitt <br />Mr. Wayne I. Munkel <br />Mr. Robert Wagner <br />Mr. Larry Lieberman <br />Mr. Paul Schoomer <br />Mr. Arthur Sharpe, Jr. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff and Assistant City Manager Gregory Rose. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved to go into executive session at 9:10 a.m. in the same location to <br />discuss legal and personnel issues according to state statutes 610.021 (1&3). Mr. Munkel <br />seconded the motion. The roll call vote was: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, <br />Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. <br /> <br />The Council adjourned to go into executive session at 9:10 a.m. <br /> <br />BACK TO STUDY SESSION AGENDA: <br /> <br />The Council reconvened its scheduled study session at 10:46 a.m. <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - SMOKING BAN IN RESTAURANT: <br /> <br />After brief discussion on whether to consider prohibiting smoking in restaurants, the sense <br />of Council was that it would not be desirable unless the County prohibited it County wide. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - DIRECTION ON AQUATIC AREA: <br /> <br />Mr. Rose updated the Council on the numerous opinions, comments and surveys he has <br />performed so as to formulate a City wide direction for the rehabbing or replacing of the <br />City's Heman Park pool. The results he has received is that generally the citizens are <br />happy with the pool, but improvements and repairs are very badly needed. He asked <br /> <br /> <br />
