7.18.14
I would like to see university city focus on our reputation we cannot be a neighborhood to the world if
our local politics is in an uproar.
Bobette Patton
7.18.14
I see no reason for the logo issue to come up until city council can get itself under control and resolve
their current disputes. The logo issue was controversial then as it would be now. I don't understand why
Mr. Walker would bring this up now. It is not and "emergency" or will it have any crucial bearing on
University City if it is not introduced now.
Myra Vandersall
7.20.14
To All, My Thoughts:
University City is not the neighborhood to the world. It is, demographically, mostly white and black and
somewhat racially and economically divided. Things are somewhat mellow here but not enough to
warrant the phrase "Neighborhood to the World." I find the Frankenstein of a logo trite, boring,
laughable, overused, etc. and hope that it is never adopted. The phrase on the logo can barely be read
from a distance. When used as an icon on an Internet site, it would be unreadable. It violates a lot of
good logo common sense.
or
This whole ordeal sounds like a script from an Andy Griffith, Mayberry RFD. After Mayor Pike has
retired, Mayor Stoner is trying to foist the new logo, "Best Haircut in World" sponsored the town barber,
Floyd, one of Stoner's business buddies. Stoner can get free haircuts for the rest of his life if he can pull
this off. Floyd has never left North Carolina or even been to Raleigh. Andy and Barney and the good
citizens of Mayberry can only throw their hands up in disgust while Aunt Bee is running around in a
tither. Will common sense prevail?
and
I would like to see a logo with no sloppy phrases, maybe different/better graphics and just "University
City" written on it. Much less to argue about.

Bruce (Robert Bruce Lucas)
7.20.14
I feel that UCity should remain at the top of logo, I also like the lions.
Kay Watts
Sent from Windows Mail
