She noted that the city is trying to approach <br />the problem of flooding with many soluitions. <br /> <br />Mr. Kraft reported that this year a prayer in remembrance of Sgt. Mike King was said at the CRC <br />(Central Reform Congregation), which he believed to be an appropriate gesture for the community <br />to make demonstrating their care and concern for looking after others. <br /> <br />Mayor Welsch made the following announcements: <br /> <br /> Health Protection and Education Services will provide free health screenings on Saturday, <br />th <br />November 15 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the U-City Public Library. Free flu shots will be <br />provided by Walgreens. <br />th <br /> <br /> The U-City Symphony will conduct a free concert at 3 p.m. on November 16 at the All <br />Saints Catholic Church located at Clemens and Westgate. <br /> <br /> The Create Space Artisans’ Village designed to showcase the crafts of 30 artists from <br />th <br />around the region opened in the Loop on Friday. On Saturday, December 6, six free <br />spaces will be offered to University City artists. Interested participants should visit the <br />website at createspacestl.com and click on the NOMINATE link. The Village is located at <br />the City-owned space formerly occupied by Good Works <br /> <br /> The Community Visioning Workshop for the purpose of establishing an overall vision for <br />the future of University City that can provide focus and direction for subsequent planning <br />activities and serve as the cornerstone of the Comprehensive Plan Update will be held on <br />th <br />November 19 at 7 p.m. at the University City Public Library. All residents and business <br />owners are encouraged to attend.
