Session 1800 <br />January 8, 2001 <br /> <br />#1 - Delmar Streetliqht Enhancement: Mr. OIlendorff recommended contracting with <br />CDG Engineers (Campbell) to design a lighting plan for Delmar from Limits Avenue to <br />Harvard. The estimated cost of this design study is $22,000. CDG is recommended <br />since they offer a high level of experience with similar business district lighting systems, <br />availability of both engineering and architectural components, and a cost estimate <br />within budget. Primarily funding for this design study is from the University City share of <br />the Delmar Enhancement Grant. <br /> <br />#2 - Chambe~ain Sidewalk Contract: Mr. Ollendorff recommended acceptance of Mr. <br />John Kim Tucci as manager for all liquor license renewals on behalf of the Pasta House <br />Co. There is no change in any license except for the designation of the new manager. <br /> <br />#3 - Picnic Liquor License - 7157 Northmoon Mr. Ollendorff recommend approval of the <br />annual picnic beer license for the PTA of Our Lady of Lourdes School at the annual <br />parish picnic on May 27, 2001. This organization has conducted this activity in an <br />exemplary manner for many years. <br /> <br />#4 - Traffic Siqnal Desiqn Contract: Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of a contract <br />for professional services to design and inspect installation of new traffic controller and <br />signals at Asbury and Forsyth by Crawford, Bunte & Brummeyer Co. for fees not to <br />exceed $11,600. The cost of this project is substantially covered by the Federal Grant <br />Agreement approved by the City Council several months ago. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Sharpe seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #2 - PUBLIC HEARING - DELCREST/DELMAR REDEVELOPMENT <br />PLAN: <br /> <br />A public hearing has been scheduled and advertised for 7:30 p.m. in these Council <br />Chambers to receive input on the blighting of the Medve project area and the <br />redevelopment plan. Following consideration of these issues, Council may act on the <br />ordinance as recommended by the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Schoomer opened the public hearing at 7:36 p.m. <br /> <br />Nancy Sachar, 8044 Lafon, wished to know more about this projecl since it is in back of <br />where she lives. She does not understand what it means by limited tax abatement. Mr. <br />OHendorff stated that the project had run into tremendous cost increases. The <br />developer had planned on property taxes based on an assessed w~lue when it is all <br />done of $26 million. He is concerned that the way the costs have rnounted. that the <br />assessed value and property taxes could go sky high. The developer has asked the <br /> <br /> <br />
