SESSION 1258 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> September 22,-1980 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City, held in the Assembly <br />Room of the City Hall on Monday, September 22, 1980, Mayor Joseph W. Mooney pre- <br />sided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. In addition to the Mayor, the <br />following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br />Mr. Joseph L. Adams, 3r. <br />Mrs. Cynthia Metcalfe <br />Mr. Patrick J. Kelley <br />Mr. Allen Sabol <br />Mrs. Betty L. Thompson <br /> <br />Also present were City Manager Frank G. Ollenderff and City Attorney Dennis F. Kay. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Mrs. Matcalfe noted that a correction should be made in the minutes of September 3, <br />1980. On page 4, ninth paragraph, it was stated that Mrs. Metcalfe Said the bus stop <br />seemed to be the only place to put refuse for pickup. The comment that she intended <br />was that there was no place for people who were waiting for the bus to put their lit- <br />ter. <br /> <br />Mr. Sabol moved that the minutes of September 3, 1980 be approved as corrected. Mr. <br />Lieberman seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION HONORING COUNCILMEMBER LIEBERMAN <br /> <br />Mayor ~boney read a resolution, attached hereto, in which Councilmember Larry Lie- <br />betman was honored on his recent election as president of the Missouri Municipal <br />League, and for his many services, both locally and nationally, to the League and to <br />University City. There was a round of applause. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman thanked everyone and said there was no greater honor than to be hon- <br />ored by one's peers and that he was very proud to be able to represent the Missouri <br />Municipal League and University City in this role. <br /> <br />Mayor Moohey noted that Mr. Lieberman's wife, Mrs. Joy Lieberman, and two of his <br />children were present, and there was a round of applause for them, also. <br /> <br />Mr. Sidney Schneider, president of the Senior Service Board, asked to address the <br />Council. Mr. Schneider said the elders of University City were very appreciative <br />and proud of what Mr. Lieherman has done in University City and the honors he has <br />brought to the community. <br /> <br />AMERICAN FIELD SERVICES STUDENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Mooney noted that three foreign students were present at the Council meeting. <br />The students are sponsored by the American Field Service and are living with fami- <br />lies in University City. ~ev.
