Mayor Mooney presented park <br />passes to the students~ <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Mr. Dennis Lubeck, Mr. Tyrone Hudson and Mr. Carl Seltzer, all of whom had been re- <br />appointed as members of the Commission on Human Relations, were sworn in by the City <br />Clerk. Mayor Mooney noted chat the City depends heavily on the members of the boards <br />and coremissions who give so unselfishly of their time to promote the City's welfare. <br /> <br />OATHS OF OFFICE - FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />Mayor Mooney said there was a recent reorganization of the Fire Department, and the <br />new position of battalion chief had been established. Four men in the department are <br />to have this position, and the ~yor asked them and their wives to come forward. They <br />are Mr. Fred Mallon, Mr. Bob Metcalf, Mr. James James and Mr, James Shanahan, and they <br />were sworn in by the City Clerk. There was a round of applause as their wives pinned <br />on their new badges, Mayor Mooney said the City appreciates everything these men have <br />done for the Fire Department. <br /> <br />HONOR FOR CHIEF DAMOS <br /> <br />~yor Moohey noted that Chie~ of Police James Damos was recently elected first vice- <br />president of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, which meant that he <br />will be that group's president next year. The Mayor ~oted that this is a very grear <br />honor. <br /> <br />CITY F~NAGER'S REPORTS <br /> <br />LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION - 7384 FORSYTH <br /> <br />The City Manager said an application for a license to sell intoxicating liquor by the <br />drink at Bilbo's, 7384 Forsyth Blvd., has been reviewed and found to meet all the <br />City ordinance requirements. He recommended that a public hearing be set for the <br />next council meeting, at which time there will also be a review of a site plan for a <br />conditional use permit to operate as a restaurant. Notices are to be sent as required. <br /> <br />Mrs. Metcalfe moved that a public hearing be set for October 6, 1980, at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mrs. Thompson seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATION - 8369 OLIVE <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended setting a public hearing to consider an application re- <br />ceived from Chu's China Gate Restaurant, 8369 Olive Boulevard, to continue the pres- <br />ent type of licensing for liquor by the drink. This was necessitated because of a <br />change of ownership. All code requirements have been met. <br /> <br />Mrs. Metcalfe moved that a public hearing be set for October 6, 1980, at 8:30 P.M. <br />Mr. Sabol seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
