<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />To: Honorable Mayor Adams and City Council <br /> <br />From: Julie Feier, City Manager <br /> <br />Date: April 6, 2007 <br /> <br />Subject: Weekly Update <br /> <br />University City election results <br /> are in: <br />Voter turnout for Ward 2 Council Seat: 9.87% <br />Ricci: 614 <br />Nickerson: 143 <br />Ms. Ricci retaining her seat on Council for a one-year term <br /> <br />Voter turnout for school board election: 5.77 % <br />Peters: 1,218 <br />Gilyard: 1,068 <br />Both members will assume seats on the School Board for three-year terms. <br /> <br /> <br />Rachel Watson was elected as the University City High School Student Council <br />student liaison to the City Council <br />President. As such, she will be serving as a . <br />Ms. Watson will be invited to sit with Council during Council meetings and will <br />receive a packet of information delivered to her home to enable her active <br />participation on our discussions. This is a substantial step in encouraging young <br />people in our community to have an input in local government. Ms. Watson will <br />be a tremendous asset as she is the Junior Class Vice-President. She has also <br />been a leader as the Captain on the volleyball team and is currently on the <br />newspaper staff as a reporter and editorial writer. She tutors students, and if that <br />was not enough, she holds down a job at Companion Baked Goods in Clayton. <br /> <br />Sutter-Meyer House. <br />The Sutter-Meyer Society (SMS) is a new organization <br />made up of University City residents and others interested in the Sutter-Meyer <br />house, the oldest structure in U-City, located at 6826 Chamberlain Court.
