<br />To: Honorable Mayor Adams and Council <br />From: Julie Feier, City Manager <br />Date: March 20, 2009 <br />Subject: Weekly Update <br />a request for qualifications for <br />The Community Development Department prepared <br />the City owned property at Olive Boulevard and North and South <br />. This meets C.1. <br />relating to Council’s Strategic Plan. There has already been interest in the property. <br />The proposed redevelopment area includes five parcels covering 2.02 acres with a pre- <br />demolition appraised value of over $350,000. Proposals will be evaluated based on <br />past projects and concepts for the site. The City’s priority is not to gain the highest value <br />for the property, but to generate a project that sets the stage and the standard for future <br />development along Olive Blvd. Proposals including LEED® certification standards and <br />components of mixed use and public spaces generated in the community charrette will <br />be given greatest consideration. Responses are requested by May 30. The proposals <br />will be forwarded to Council for consideration. A workshop was hosted today for <br />development and commercial real estate industry to field questions and discussion <br />concepts for the site. <br />Free Health Screenings will be available this Saturday, <br />Mar. 21 at the University City <br />Library, 6701 Delmar Blvd., Registration 9:00 AM– 10:30 AM. For more information, <br />call 488-7373. Screenings of hearing, visions, diabetes, glaucoma, etc. are available <br />free for children and adults. <br />The University City Annual Pet Clinic will be Saturday, April 4 <br /> from 8:00 AM to <br />11:00 AM, at the Heman Park Community Center, 975 Pennsylvania Ave. Fees for cats <br />and dogs are Spayed/Neutered $18, $20 and Non-Spayed/Neutered $26, $28. A one- <br />year rabies vaccination and preliminary health exam for cats and dogs will be provided. <br />Fees include vaccination record required for St. Louis County rabies registration and the <br />$2 University City dog license fee. All pets must be at least three months old. <br />Dogs must be leashed and cats must be in carriers.
