6801 Delmar Boulevard, University City, MO 63130 Phone: 314-862-6767,
Fax: (314) 862-0694

Date: December 7, 2005

To: Members of the Traffic Commission

From: Mariela Tapia, Secretary of the Traffic Commission.

Re: December 14, 2005 Traffic Commission Meeting

This letter is to inform you that the next Traffic Commission meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. in the Jackson Park Elementary School-
playroom.

Please call Sandy Weinberg at 862-6767, ext. 260, and advise her if you will not be attending
the meeting.

AGENDA FOR THE MEETING

1.New crosswalk to be installed at the intersection of North & South Road and Amherst

For your information –

St. Louis County commented that there is a signalized crosswalk just one block north of
North & South and Amherst intersection. The city is aware of the commissioner’s
decision of not being in favor of marking crosswalks in the pavement, in the middle of
the block when there are no extra elements (flashing beacon) that call attention to the
crosswalk.

Currently, requestor is gathering information regarding amount of pedestrians using the
crosswalk, ages of pedestrians and times for the crosswalk use. This issue will be
followed up by St. Louis County.

2.Eliminate one-way system in alley behind Loop Businesses (Skinker to Melville)

The City received a request from Amy J. Trujillo, resident and business owner in
University City. She proposes that the one way system in the alley be abandoned.
She states that the traffic is minimal, and is wide enough for 2 cars to pass in the alley
with little difficulty.

Currently, the Municipal Code states that traffic shall move in a westbound direction
only in the alley from Westgate Avenue to Melville Avenue, two hundred (200) feet
south of Delmar Boulevard.

1
V:\WP51\Mariela-Projects\Traffic Commission\agenda\2005\Agenda 12-14-05.doc
