Request to prohibit parking across from a private driveway on Partridge between Willow
Tree Ln. and Raymond Ave.

Chairperson Paterson explained that this item was considered at the January 2010 Traffic
Commission meeting. However, it was tabled to make sure that all traffic commissioners have the
opportunity to visit the location and experience the traffic volumes and speed.

Ms. Marian Sharpe, resident at 7131 Willow Tree Lane provided the commissioners with a document
supporting the request to prohibit on the east side of Partridge Ave, south of Willow Tree Lane. She
stated that Ms. Johnson, property owner of 7100 Willow Tree Lane, struggles to exit from her
driveway encountering several different ways of traffic heading her way. The immediate traffic for
north and southbound Partridge Avenue includes drivers coming from Dover and Camden Courts,
Forest Green Court, Hazelwood Lane, Willow Tree Lane, Raymond Avenue, University Forest
Nursing Home and Good Sheppard Children and Family Services. In addition, there are no stop
signs for southbound Partridge near the 1300 block of Partridge, and therefore, there are speeding
problems. Vehicles parked on the east side of Partridge directly across from the driveway of 7100
Willow Tree add to the stress of drivers attempting to safely exit the driveway in question. University
Forest Nursing Home and Good Sheppard Children and Family Services have enough parking
spaces to offer to visitors and employees, therefore, there is no need to park on Partridge Ave.

Ms. Moore, resident at 7114 Willow Tree Lane spoke in favor of implementing the parking restriction
on the east side of Partridge as requested, to improve driving conditions for Partridge drivers.

Traffic Commission Minutes – February 10, 2010 Page 1
