SESSION 1205 <br />MINUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY COUNCIL <br />December 18, 1978 <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City, held in the assem- <br />bly room of the City Hall on Monday, December 18, 1978, Mayor Joseph W. Mooney <br />presided and called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. In addition to the Mayor, <br />the following members of the Council were present: <br />Mr. Lawrence Lieberman <br />Mr. Joseph L. Adams, Jr. <br />Mrs. Cynthia Metcalfe <br />Mr. Patrick J. Kelley <br />Mr. Allen Sabol <br />Mrs. Elsie Glickert <br />Also present were City Manager Victor A. Ellman, and City Attorney Dennis F. Kay. <br />MINUTES <br />On motion of Councilman Sabol, seconded by Councilman Adams and ua8nimously <br />carried, the Minutes of December 4, 1978, were approved as received. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Upon inquiry by Mayor Mooney as to whether there were any communications, the <br />City Clerk said a letter dated December 18, 1978 had been received from Ray <br />Holt, Committee Chairman of UCAN/ACORN and distributed to the Council. <br />Mayor Mooney asked if any appointments were to be made. <br />Councilman Lieberman moved the reappointment of Warren Jones to the Plan Com- <br />mission. The motion was seconded by Councilman Glickert and it carried unani- <br />mously. <br />Councilman Sabol moved the reappointment of Emmanuel Paxhia to the Traffic <br />Commission. The motion was seconded by Councilman Metcalfe and carried unani- <br />mously. <br />Councilman Lieberman moved the reappointment of Dr. Gerald Wool and Dr. Frank <br />0. Richards to the Board of Health. Councilman Sabol seconded the motion and <br />it carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Glickert moved the reappointment of Mrs. Elinor Coyle, Mrs. Virginia <br />Horner and Mrs. Rosalyn Wykes to the Municipal Commission on Arts and Letters. <br />The motion was seconded by Councilman Lieberman and carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Lieberman said Mr. Milton Goldstein, although technically eligible <br />for reappointment, had served the equivalent of two terms and felt it was time <br />for someone new on the Plan Commission. Therefore, an opening now exists on <br />that commission. Mayor Mooney said the Council would regretfully accept his <br />resignation. <br />
