SESSION 1585 <br /> <br />MINUf~-~ OF THE UNIVERSITY CIlia{ COUNCIL <br /> <br /> FebD~a~y 8, 1993 <br /> <br />At a regular meeting of the City Council of University City held in the As- <br />sembly Pnc~ of City Hall c~ Monday, FebD~a~y 8, 1993, Mayor Janet Majerus <br />presided and called tba meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. In addition to the <br />Mayor, the following members of the Council were present: <br /> <br />Mr. Byron R. Prioe <br />Mr. Joseph L. ~aa~s, Jr.* <br />Mr. RobertG. Wagner <br />Mrs. MaryV. Sch~n <br />Mr. Paul E. Schocmer <br />Mrs. Betty L. <br /> <br />,Mr. ~aams arrived at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Also present was City Manager Frank Ollendorff, and Ms. Evelyn Stokes, who <br />will read for the City Clerk, who has lar!nlgitis. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of tha January 25, 1993 minutes as submitted. Mr. <br />Price seconded the motion, which carried five to zero. Mayor Majerus ab- <br />stained since she w~s not present at that meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved the appoin~mnent of Ma. Muriel Baird Peniston, 7360 Westmore- <br />land, to the Plan C~mLdssion for a term expiring Jammary 1, 1996. Mr. Price <br />seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus administered the oath of office to Mr. P~bert M. O'Neil, a new <br />appointee to the Municipal C~Lu,dssion on Arts and Letters. <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus thanked Mr. O'Neil for his willingness to serve, adding that <br />the Council depends heavily on the advice and recommendations it receives <br />from the boards and oatuLdesions. <br /> <br />Ms. Michelle Rrodsky, Washington University s~ent representative to the <br />City Council, said C~.M.LULI~d_ieFZ.rJe ~ social critic Beatrice Barrie will give a <br />lecture on Feb~mary 10 at 11 a.m. as part of the University's Cultural Cele- <br />bration Weeks. The will be a lecture on an allied topic at 11 a.m. Febru- <br />ary 17, but the speaker has not been chosen. Sex educator Susie Lindolphe <br />will speak at 4 p.m. February 18. All programs are at Graham Chapel. Ms. <br />Brodsky also noted that as an additional security measure, canpus police are <br />new patrolling the elevated part of the Greenway path. <br /> <br /> <br />
